Editorial Review for Shiki Sushi House & Asian Bistro – by Taylor Davenport
In Short
Featuring prominent, but not overbearing, Japanese decor--silk geisha prints and a sleek, light-wood bar--Shiki draws an RTP crowd looking to satisfy their sushi fix near the office. Shiki offers an exceptionally extensive array of sushi and sashimi, including snow crab, quail egg and an extra-fat spider roll.

I see a lot of people give this place pretty bad reviews based on their reactions to receiving their checks. OF COURSE YOU'LL BE CHARGED FOR THE MOST EXPENSIVE SUSHI YOU ORDER. All buy 1 get 1 free deals in history charge you for equal or less value. Do you really think they'll ring up your $3.95 nigiri and not your $13 roll? Don't be dumb. The sushi is good for what it is. It's cheap, it's quick, it's fairly tasty. The salmon is probably the best, the white tuna (which isn't actually white tuna, it's butterfish, but this is beside the point). A chirashi don there is a pretty great deal. Tons of fish, more than a sashimi deluxe, and it's like $15. The rolls there are what I'd recommend eating though if you're any bit of a sushi snob. Once stuff is cooked, covered in different sauces, etc, everything is pretty good. The rolls here are on the small side so eating 2 to 3 of them per person is a reality. The kitchen food (anything off the other menu) is why I love shiki. It's AMAZING. Everything i've tried there has been awesome. The pho is really good, which is surprising, but then not really because it's owned and operated largely by vietnamese people (including the head kitchen chef). The noodle dishes sort of tend to be hard to discern from eachother (pad see yew vs drunken noodles, for instance) but that's okay because it's all delicious. The appetizers, don't miss those. Best calamari I've had anywhere. Chicken lettuce wraps are great, too. Oh OH last thing, the best thing on the menu is definitely panang curry. Hands down favorite. I ate it like, for a week straight. So pretty much I'd give this place 3 stars for sushi because I'm a spoiled brat and highly judgemental when it comes to quality and presentation, but a 5 for the other food. The atmosphere is pretty chill, too, and they have drink specials like every day of the week that are also bangin.
Pros: Ambience, drink specials, service
Cons: Customers who can't do math shouldn't go here

Wow i just went to shiki last night i thought it was a great eating experience( great price and Food). I want everyone to know that they have Japanese food (hibachi), Chinese food like(orange chicken), and Thai food (panang curry, Thai spicy basil). Nice decor inside, great for date night or bring in the family. With new management in place this restaurant is a great addition within 1 mile of south point mall.
