Editorial Review for Cuba – by Alex Leviton
The Scene
Cuban-inspired artwork and photographs line the walls, which are covered in every color of the rainbow. The restaurant deftly combines a cozy eatery with a fun and lively atmosphere. Salsa music adds to the Latin-flavored ambience.
The Food
The La Habana is a fabulous way to sample the best appetizers. It comes with "Cuban cigars" (a fried black bean taquito), sweet coconut encrusted shrimp, a papa rellena, ham croquettes and mango salsa good enough to drink. The cerdo relleno pork loin comes stuffed with spinach, raisins, nuts and onions and tastes almost Middle Eastern. The delicious salmon con coco y nueces (coconut and cashews) is covered with a citrus beurre blanc. Skip the overly-sweet Cuban desserts and order tiramisu or profiteroles from Est Est Est.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoCuba is on West Hargett, about 20 feet behind Est Est Est. But to get into either restaurant, you actually enter through the Commerce building lobby. Cuba is behind the nondescript door to your left.
What to DrinkThis is a great place to try Latin wines--the restaurant has a small collection of wines by the glass from Argentina, Chile and Spain.
Save MoneyThe menu is exactly the same for lunch as it is for dinner, just 30 to 40 percent cheaper.

Dined w/my wife Saturday night. Service was beyond terrible. Then came the food which was worse than the service. We know Cuban food and this was NOT Cuban food. Wrong spices, wrong everything, and very highly overpriced. Don't waste your time or money here.
Pros: nothing
Cons: food, service, prices

Went there on a Saturday night; party of two. The place was understaffed and the waitress lacked any sort of training. The food was of poor quality and tasteless. The ingredients were strait of your local grocery store's frozen and canned sections. The chicken dish contained bits and pieces of bone that you had to spit out after every bite. Spices for ropa vieja were not Cuban. The fried apetizer still was still frozen in the middle. The food is grossly overpriced for what it is (app. $15 per plate). Moreover, they kept playing one single CD taht kept skipping and making a terrible sound. I was veri dissapointed and dissatisfied with the experience. Would not recommend to anyone!
Pros: none
Cons: overpriced, bad food, poor service
