Editorial Review for Taste of Thai – by Alex Leviton

In Short
A step up from your average Thai restaurant, Taste of Thai offers menu staples well as more exotic choices. Gracious presentation adds to the adventurous feel of dishes. The tom yum soup--a sweet-and-sour extravaganza, is packed with lemon grass, cilantro, mushrooms, tomato and chili. The notable pad Thai wins with its not-too-sweet peanut sauce. Larb tastes much better than it sounds: stir-fried ground chicken and vegetables, covered with a lime dressing.

I found Taste of Thai to be both savory and authentic. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere, though perhaps a little brighter than I would prefer, was warm and inviting. I have loved Thai food for years and have several favorites in Charlotte. This, however, was my first Thai food experience in Raleigh, and I was very pleased. I feel confident using this restaurant as an introduction to Thai food for people who have never experienced its vast pleasures before.

My husband and I moved from the San Francisco Bay area where great Thai food is easy to find. We tried a lot of restaurants in Raleigh and Cary hoping to find something that compared. Taste of Thai is it. Great, authentic Thai food at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is nice as well. It is quiet with very private booths and nice decor. The staff are very attentive, and good with small children.

Pros: Great food, Great service, Nice atmosphere

Cons: none
