Editorial Review for Rey's Restaurant – by Laura Ruldoph
In Short
Southern in spirit, the main dining room features warm mahogany paneling, elegant chandeliers and rich jewel tones. If you're looking for something a little less formal, head to the Voodoo Lounge, where you'll find dark leather chairs, booths and a well-lit fire on colder nights. Signature dishes include grilled Brie appetizers, New Orleans turtle soup and pork tenderloin marinated in bourbon sauce. An extensive Sunday brunch features more French-inspired dishes like crawfish etouffee served with Cajun rice.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here a couple nights ago. We were met at the door with a handshake by Rey himself and promptly seated. The service was great all evening. The food was pretty good but not exceptional. All the entrees on the menu were $20 to $25 and the food was pretty good for the price. But then we received the check and were surprised to find that my "special" was $56, which changed our opinion! It wasn't that good. This morning we were sharing our experience with friends and they said the same exact thing happened to them. So pretty nice dining experience but watch out for the special!
Pros: Service, Ambience
Cons: Value

Good selection of cigars, great scotch behind the bar, friendly service. Ask for Emily, she's excellent.
Pros: Best scotch and the best cigars, plus Rey personally tends to the little things that make it great.
Cons: Sometimes I feel a little underdressed there but they never make any mention of it.
