Editorial Review for Mordecai Historic Park – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
This two-story mansion, located on Mordecai Square, is the birthplace of Andrew Johnson, who took over as the 17th president of the United States after Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. The house, built in 1785, is supposedly haunted by a woman wearing a long black skirt, white blouse and tie. Employees of the park have heard a mysterious voice, eerie singing, unexplained footsteps and observed doors open and close, seemingly of their own accord.
