Editorial Review for Neomonde Restaurant & Deli – by Neha Shah
In Short
Travel to a faraway land without going outside the Triangle when you visit this deli. Taste tests are available if you feel tentative about anything too exotic. Roam the shelves while you wait and discover spices, sweets, snacks and more. The deli itself is sparse and clean and the pungent smells of colorful dishes wafts throughout. The falafel (baked fresh daily) is a must, as are the other breads baked here.

Fresh, tasty, and very easy to eat a healthy meal quickly so it's a great alternative to fast food if you're near one of the Neomonde locations. The hummus, baba ganoujh, and stuffed grape leaves are some of my favorites. The tabouli is excellent but I just happen to prefer mine with a little fresh mint, their's is all (fresh!) parsley. They also bake the only fresh pita in the triangle and sell it at a very reasonable price. The only thing I do not recommend at all is the kibbeh, it's been very dry the couple of times I've gotten it.
Pros: Food, fresh baked breads
Cons: dry kibbeh

This place is one of my staples. The food is delicious and their desserts are wonderful. It is more like a cafeteria-style restaurant where you walk up to the counter, order your food, pay for it, and bring it to the table yourself so if you are looking for a romantic spot or want to be waited on this is not the place. But otherwise this is definitely the place to go. I can't say much about the service though. They try to get you in and out quickly and some of the servers behind the counter are nicer than others. However, considering that you only have to deal with them for literally 1-3 minutes and the food is so good, it isn't an issue. hmm...maybe this is Raleigh's "Soup Nazzi" equivalent! I go here regularly and at prime eating times it is hard to find an open seat. I always see families there. Good vegetarian options. They have sampler plates and the prices are reasonable. I have really liked everything I tried so far but their shawarma, so I wouldn't recommend that particular dish. I am not sure what the other reviewer was talking about when they said this place is expensive. If you order their most expensive meals- a sampler of 4 dishes it is $8 or $9. If you go for a falafel ($4) or a wrap it is less than $5. I don't consider being able to eat an entire meal for $10 or less expensive.
Pros: Delicious Food at Good Prices
Cons: Cafeteria Style Eating
