We were "greeted" for brunch by the hostess (I think she may be the owner based on her attitude)- she lifted her head and said, in an unfriendly tone, "can you get out of the way!" There was a woman who wanted to come in and she sheepishly walked past us. Nice start. Menu options were plentiful and the food was delicious. But we kept watching that hostess/owner walk around telling people what to do in a very unfriendly way. The staff loathed when she'd approach them and we saw staff darting away when she'd head in their direction. The staff wasn't happy and it showed in the level of service. I would recommend going just for the food, and perhaps to be really nice to hard-working people and make their day a little brighter.
Pros: Great menu variety, delicious food
Cons: Hostess

Panzanella is technically an Italian restaurant, but for brunch they offer tofu scramble: Tofu Scramble: Tofu, Sweet Onion, Roasted Tomatoes, Potatoes and Portabella Mushrooms with Gimme-Lean Breakfast Patties (V) $8.50 I have never been there, but this is the only restaurant that I know of in the area that serves tofu scramble as a breakfast option. They also mark their menu with a V on vegan menu items. There are 3 options on the Dinner Menu and 1 vegan salad on the Lunch Menu. They are in the same building as the Weaver Street Market, on the back side of the building. Parking lot parking. Closed for Dinner on Mondays. Accepts reservations.

We went to Panzanella for their New Year's four-course meal and it was fabulous! At only $50 per person, it was a deal compared to many similar restaurants and it was worth every penny. My appetizer was the best part-a succelent confit of cornish game hen with a creamed cauliflower sauce. The soup was fine, not too special, just a light broth with shrimp and pancetta. The main entree was as melt-in-your mouth as they described: artichoke pieces (not just the heart!), escador fish, crispy onions, and figs. Then the chocolate caramel torte! So crunchy and satisfying! The champagne used for the toast was also a great choice, not too tart, not too sweet. My sole complaint would be not enough festivities-but with that food to focus on, it didn't matter.
Pros: tastes, easy parking, excellent wine choice
Cons: not very ambient, slow service
