Can't speak to one reviewer's comments on inconsistency yet, but after my first visit I will be back. Lunch portions are huge, take-out was easy to arrange, order was accurate and most importantly, the food was really good. Well spiced, ingredients seemed fresh and all good quality and without a lot of grease. So far I recommend wholeheartedly!

I tried Taste of Thai a few times both at lunch and dinner, I really wanted to find a good Thai restaurant close to my office since Sushi Thai went downhill. The thai here just didn't live up to my expectations. The food was inconsistent, sometimes bland, and they seem to use vegetables that are out of a can or previously frozen. Limp, tasteless, there is no excuse not to use fresh ingredients in my opinion.

A friend suggested we go here for lunch, I had never been. The interior decor was nicer than I have seen at most Thai restaurants so I thought that was a good start. The entire staff that I saw there was of Asian descent so I assumed the food would be pretty authentic. It was!!! The presentation of the food was nice and the food had great flavor, nice portions and the service was very good as well. I would definitely recommend this place.

I found Taste of Thai to be both savory and authentic. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere, though perhaps a little brighter than I would prefer, was warm and inviting. I have loved Thai food for years and have several favorites in Charlotte. This, however, was my first Thai food experience in Raleigh, and I was very pleased. I feel confident using this restaurant as an introduction to Thai food for people who have never experienced its vast pleasures before.

My husband and I moved from the San Francisco Bay area where great Thai food is easy to find. We tried a lot of restaurants in Raleigh and Cary hoping to find something that compared. Taste of Thai is it. Great, authentic Thai food at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is nice as well. It is quiet with very private booths and nice decor. The staff are very attentive, and good with small children.
Pros: Great food, Great service, Nice atmosphere
Cons: none

large portions, great portions, fresh herbs, friendly service, and great value. Better than Sushi Thai because the herbs are more fresh and flavorful, and the dishes are not drowning in sauces. The Thai beer is definitely worth trying. A decently elegant atmosphere.
Pros: Great food for the money. A wait staff that actually knows how to treat their guest.
Cons: none

for the past five years, my boyfriend and i have gone to taste of thai for valentine's day. we've always been happy with the food and service, and last night was no exception. not only was our server friendly and prompt, but they comped our drinks and surprised us with a coconut custard in the shape of a heart for dessert! and as we were leaving, we were given a gift card that ensures 10% off every meal for the next year. i was so impressed last night, and we will definitely continue to go there for years to come!
Pros: service, food, hospitality
Cons: parking

I used to be a HUGE fan of Taste of Thai. There were countless weeks when I ate there 6 days a week (literally), I was there for the grand opening, and went there just about every day thereafter. However, I believe that management changed - and things went downhill. Now most of the time, their lunches are frozen and microwaved when ordered, and their sanitation grade has dropped quite a bit. They seemed to have gotten rid of their lunch specials - which changes daily before - and was a HUGE disappointment. I was extremely saddened to see such a fall in the Taste of Thai... but sadly... I don't really think I will be going back there anytime soon... That way I will be able to focus more on it's grand beginnings... (=^D
Pros: Friendly People, Nice Atmosphere, Decent Prices
Cons: Poor Sanitation, No More Fresh Food...

We had lunch on a Saturday afternoon and were VERY pleased with all aspects of our experience. The dining room wasn't crowded so we were seated immediately. The service was good and the pace of the meal was perfect. The waitress was very attentive and allowed us to substitute cellophane noodles for rice on one entree. The hot and sour soup was mentioned in previous reviews so we tried it and it was delicious. From appetizer to dessert we loved everything. If you have a sweet tooth, try the fried banana dessert. We will certainly go back to try the lunch buffet during the week and have already made plans to stop for dinner in the near future.
Pros: Service, food, value.
Cons: For us, none.

Every time we go here, we have a great experience! The food is tasty; the prices are right; and the service is friendly. If you are looking for a good thai restaurant, this would be the one to go with in Raleigh.
Pros: Variety of dishes
Cons: None
