This place had some of the best and most diverse sushi offerings around. And I am sad to report that we tried to go this past Wednesday and it is closed. There is a sign in the window about some vegetarian restaurant coming soon.

I went here for the first time late one night when I was having my sushi craving. The restaurant is beautiful inside with numerous etchings and writings on the tables and walls. There were children running around, and it was very family friendly atmosphered. Not stuffy at all. My food came out in order, not allll at once which I hate, and after I ordered each came out presented rather nicely. The owner kept checking on me as well as my waitress. I really enjoyed the sushi. Seemed very fresh. I personally dont like seaweed wrapped sushi at all, and they had it just the way I like it! I will definately be going back:)

THIS IS A BEST JAPANESE RESTAURANT IN CARY. I HAD A GOOD TIME AT THIS RESTAURANT. EVERYBODY IN MY FAMILY LOVE THIS RESTAURANT. MY SON GOES TO BRIARCLIFF ELEMTARY SCHOOL IN CARY. THEY DONATE 15% SALES TO THE SCHOOL PTA AND THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE A FOUDATION OR DONATION TO THE SOME CHURCHES IN CARY.
Cons: BESTEST RESTAURANT IN CARY

My wife and I wanted to try something new the other night. We had been going to a different sushi place for 8+years and decided to try a different place to make sure we were not "missing out". We went in and were amazed at the space inside! it is a huge, very nice restaraunt. It was all down hill from there. Very slow service and very average food. I guess when you get $1 sushi you get $1 quality. Sushi is like gas. There are several levels of "sushi grade" meats. This place is obviously using a low grade! Guess that explains why the restaraunt was almost empty. I would not recommend this establishment at all!
Pros: space, decoration
Cons: bad food, bad service

I am a native-Japanese. I know good sushi. I went into Fujiyama about a week ago on a Saturday night with my boyfriend to pick up some take out because the other sushi restaurants were PACKED. This place seemed nice and we heard it just opened so why not give it a try? I know why. Well first, I went in about 7:00pm and there were no tables, except for a few employees eating in the front. I waited for about 15 minutes until someone came to assist me. The sushi I had ordered was completely wrong but I accepted it anyway. When I took my first bite I sensed a strong fishy smell that is only emitted when gone bad. They were small portions and the "fantastic" $1 sushi was not worth it. Maybe they're not overcrowded like the other places because they are unable to compete. Needless to say I will not be returning and I would advise real sushi-lovers to go somewhere else!

Party of 9 on a Friday night. Got there at 6:30. Maybe 4-5 tables were full. Took us 30 minutes to get our drink orders, including us having to show the waitress how to mix a drink, because their bartender wasn't there (on a Friday night!!!). Waitress delivered an ice water down the back of my sister-in-law. My sushi roll took about 45 minutes to come out. My 2 pieces of eel nigiri took another 45 mins. About 15 mins later, the waitress brought me a roll that I didn't even order, then wanted to argue about it. Now here's the kicker-- one friend had a hair... ummm.. a youknowwhat hair... on her plate. We all freaked out, but it was just comical. Then my brother had a head hair on HIS plate. OK. We were done by that time. Took us 2-1/2 hours to get our very simple/small orders. Oh... and when we told the manager about the **** hair, he curiously replied, "Oh, we don't have ***** hair." OK. I have know idea if he even knew what we were talking about. This was the funniest/strangest meal I have ever had in my life. I certainly won't be back.
Pros: No wait.
Cons: Bartender missing in action, took forever to eat, got extra "stuff" in our meal

Let me start off by saying the food was decent but definitely not worth the wait. The restaurant wasn't even busy it took us about 45 min to get the food, the waitress asked us only once for refills the whole time we were there and then they messed my check up and had to wait another 25 min just to get it corrected and reprinted.

My husband and I went there the other night. We decided to try a new place because we didn't want to wait forever at Sushi-Thai. Turns out, this place has the best and freshest sushi I've ever had in the Raleigh area! They were open to making a custom order for us (Sweet Potato Tempura Roll) and were incredibly friendly. The service was excellent, the place was clean, and the dining room wasn't overly crowded like at Sushi-Thai. We will definitely go back!
Pros: Everything!
Cons: None

My husband and I usually go to Sushi Thai in Cary, but the small space makes for a long wait. So instead we saw the Now Open sign at Fujiyama and decided to try it. Well it was great, the food was right on and the service was unbelievable. The space is huge, so the wait was not bad at all. The decor is also astonishing, they have great taste. You gotta try!!! Actually I am on my there tonight. Yeah!!!
Pros: Great food, Great service, Beautiful decor
Cons: none
