Signing up for six weeks of training sessions with Josh was one of the best things I've ever done for myself. Each workout was varied so they were never boring. Josh is patient, never pushy, but he knows how to help you get the most out of each workout. If your form is off he corrects you nicely, there's no negativity or arrogance ever. At the start of each session he always asked me about my eating habits over the past few days and gave me good advice on proper nutrition. He motivated me to cut out some empty calories and add good foods to my diet. At the end of the six weeks I'm down a clothing size and lost several inches from the arms, waist and hips. Josh was very thorough about giving me three different workouts that I can do at home or at my local gym without a lot of specialized equipment. If I could keep getting sessions with him I would, it was well worth the drive downtown twice a week! (By the way, there is quite a bit of free street parking around the gym that Josh uses if you choose to go to him for workouts).

Before working with Josh of Core Results I had never been able to keep up with a training program. I have been working with him for over 8 months now and I have never felt better. I started out just wanting to lose some weight, but have really started to enjoy my time working out. Now I'm working out 4 times a week and loving it. I never thought that would happen. I credit Josh with giving me the motivation to keep going and think he has been great as a trainer in every way.

Pros: friendly and professional, always providing me with new exercises

I began working out with Josh during the summer of 2007. I had been lifting and working out on my own for the past several years but was stuck in a rut. Josh was able to re-ignite my passion for working out. He came up with an innovative and diverse work out routine that still feels new months after I stopped going to him. I am by far in the best shape of my life. The definition I have been able to attain is incredible. I would highly recommend Josh for both seasoned lifters and people new to working out. I thought I knew what I was doing until I went to Josh. He is smart and witty and will push to you to achieve your best. Josh is also very accessible. Whenever I needed to reach him, I was able to get a quick response. Josh customized my work out routine to my needs and desires and did not use some ‘stock routine’ you can find on the internet. Josh will not make you feel dumb or embarrassed if you do not know what you are doing (or think you know what you are doing, like me!). For the price, the service and the results, I highly recommend Josh.

Pros: Unique work outs, easy to get along with, knowledgeable

I started out looking for a trainer to do a 6 week “get ready for summer” fitness plan and it has turned into part of my weekly routine! I don’t ever want to give it up. Josh has made working out fun and interesting. He always has me doing something new and challenging in each workout! I travel frequently with work and he’s also given me workouts I can do when I travel and at home. I’ve gotten great results and am continuing to see changes and get stronger. He’s the best!

For those of you looking for a personal trainer, I can say Josh Rocks! I started out 3 times a week but Josh decided to back me down to 2 to get better results and to also not wear me out. How many trainers would suggest that? I like the Idea that small steps accomplish huge results over the long haul. This is very much the case. Josh keeps the variety of the workout sessions different every time. This gives me great results. I have lost 2 inches off the waist and am gaining lean muscle every week. I feel stronger and have more energy than ever before. I know myself enough to know that I could not discipline myself to workout on a regular basis. Josh takes the will-power, thinking out of the equation, and gets down to business with his scheduling and proffesionalism. Thanks again Josh for pushing me ever forward toward my goals and putting up with the endless complaining I bring to the equation every session. You are worth every pound in Gold for my Health!! Thanks for being a cool freind too.

Pros: Very Proffesional and Personable

Cons: None

I used CitySearch to find my personal trainer. I was looking for someone who could create a customized workout that would fit my ability and offer variety. I was also not interested in working out in a large impersonal gym. I have been working out with Josh for over three months. I am very pleased with my progress. I have lost inches, weight and am much more fit. All the reviews that were written about Josh’s abilities, talents and personality are true. Each workout has been different and challenging. He is very knowledgeable about technique. He has been very accommodating to my aches and pains. He has a great personality.

Pros: Variety, Personalized, Fun

I was leading a very unhealthy sedentary lifestyle before I had met Josh. I had irregular eating habits, had not worked out or played a sport in 10 years and was in a very bad shape. I was looking for a personal trainer who would help get me out of the rut, get me in shape, help me increase my overall fitness level and keep me motivated. Three months after starting to work out with Josh I have met all of these goals. I have toned up beautifully and have a lot more energy to get through the day. Every week I see a steady improvement in the way I look and feel and I am amazed at the difference in me from where I started. Josh is a great motivator; I would have easily given up so many times if he wasnt around to push me to be strong. Josh has the experience and knowledge to design so many different permutations and combinations of exercises that I never get bored of working out. I used to hate exercising and now I actually look forward to my sessions with him. He loves explaining the main principles of a cardio/strength training program and healthy nutrition, so I have learnt a lot from him. His rates are very reasonable. He is also very warm, friendly and fun a great person to know. But what I appreciate the most about him is his active interest in and commitment to my fitness. As an example of his commitment - I wanted to start cycling but it was more than 15 years since the last time I rode a bike. Josh not only helped me get comfortable on a bike again, but also helped me choose and buy my own bike and even worked out a biking cardio program for me. I never thought I could go running, but Josh has got me started running with him once a week. With all his help, I am well on my way to being a much more active, fit and really confident person. Josh not only meets all the expectations one would have of a personal trainer, he exceeds them :).

Pros: Highly experienced, knowledgeable and committed; fun and varied sessions; great motivator

Cons: NONE

Josh is an experienced, knowledgable trainer, and an all-around awesome person! He mixes professional etiquette with an uncanny sense of humor, making each workout session interesting and fun. I can't remember the last time I actually loved working out... When I coached high school volleyball, Josh designed an awesome high intensity/low impact workout for my girls. He even came to our gym and demonstrated each exercise, while motivating my team to get in the best shape of their lives! As a result, we had more stamina and flexibillity than we ever had before, outshined every other team in the conference, and made it to the state playoffs... Now I am a new mom, with a "new mom shape", but Josh quickly helped me shake the "baby blues" and get motivated to get my old body back! Josh took so many personal things into consideration when designing my routine -- he worked around my knee problems, catered to my limited schedule, and incorporated all the things I love to do (like use a boxing bag and balance board). As a result, I have a customized routine that is easy to fit into any day! I have worked out for years, but never realized how much time I always wasted in the gym, performing exercises incorrectly, or not pushing myself hard enough. Josh not only showed me explicitly how to do the best routine for my goals, but explained in detail how to get the maximum benefits of each exercise. He even gave me alternative routines for days that I have less time to work out, or days when I want to mix things up a bit. Before Josh offered his services, I would go to my basement and look at the pile of exercise equipment I've collected and feel overwhelmed and lost. Now, I can't wait to hand my baby off to my husband to go "get my workout on" :-)

Pros: knowledgable, professional, experienced

Cons: NONE WHATSOEVER

Two words: Josh Rocks! If you want a trainer that is as diverse as he is nonintimidating, Josh is the one for you. I interviewed a few different trainers before settling on Josh. He was the only one that didn't make me feel inadequate or like a piece of meat. Very friendly disposition, very knowledgeable about his stuff. We meet twice a week at a local, small gym open only to personal trainers and their clients. The best part about my program with Josh is that 99% of the stuff we do there, I can duplicate at home because we don't use the machines nearly as much as we use simple items like tension bands, balance ball, steps, and small hand weights. What I tell my friends (and my husband every time he complains that I am still spending money on a trainer, lol) is that not only does Josh guide me with a vast variety of exercises, he also shows me that my personal limits can be pushed further than I imagined. When I think I can't do something, he shows me that I can. When I think I'm tapped out, he pushes me further. I can't say enough good things about this guy. He really knows his stuff. The variety of exercises keeps things fresh and fun. I have lost about 20 pounds in 3 months (4 weeks of which I was sick and injured). I've got from a tight size 18 to a loose size 14, and for once, I don't think, I *know* I am going to meet and surpass my goal. I have no doubt in my mind. I dont care that its coming off slow and steady, because I know by this time next year, it's going to be a nonissue. I'm losing weight, I'm gaining muscle, I'm lookin hot and it's got a great deal to do with the continual training and guidance provided by Josh. Like another one of his clients mentioned, I am now not only focusing on weight loss, but endurance. Gearing up for the Autism Ribbon Run. It's a short one, but it's a start! Josh! I love ya!

I began looking for a personal trainer 4 months ago that was knowledgeable, certified, reasonably priced, and most importantly, someone that would physically push me without turning into a drill seargent! My goal was to get through the weight-loss plateau that I had been stuck on for several months, but to also regain the strength that I had when I was younger. Then I found Josh and have been working out with him ever since! Not only have I lost weight, I've lost INCHES and grown much stronger without ever getting bored. Josh always has a wide variety of strength training moves, plus he checks on what I'm eating and how I'm working out during the rest of the week when I'm not there. His rates are very reasonable and purchasing sessions from him is lot easier than purchasing them at the gym chains and franchises. Josh is also an incredible motivator - when I expressed that I was having difficulty jogging on my own, he went jogging WITH ME! That experience has inspired me to not just lose weight, but to try to build up my endurance so that I can compete in a 5K run later this year. Besides seeing results (and everyone else seeing them too!), I have FUN working out with Josh. Whatever your fitness goals are, if you are thinking about getting a personal trainer to help achieve them, then this is the first person you should contact.

Pros: knowledgable, fun, motivating

Cons: none
