After reading the two reviews that were given to The Dancing Moon, I was very confused as to which Dancing Moon Store these two people had gone to. Whenever I go to The Dancing Moon I am treated very very well and the people who work there are very very friendly and helpful. I moved here from Miami Fl in 2004 and did not know there was a store like this in Raleigh. A friend of mine told me about The Dancing Moon, and each time I go there it is a refreshing experience for me. The store has some very interesting Metaphysical items that are a little pricey but DUH!!!! This is Raleigh NC, not NY, FL,CA, etc. People, just be glad that a store such as this is here and support it without petty put downs. I would like to go into the Dancing Moon and find a GREAT PSYCHIC...thats not easy to do in any City nowadays. I guess I was spoiled by the great Greek Psychics in Miami that read the Greek Coffee cups. I am always on the look out for a GREAT PSYCHIC not a so-so guesser. Cudos to THE DANCING MOON.... Pros: Parking, Location, Staff, Books, Metaphysical Items,Tarot Cards, teas, Incense etc.
Cons: Needs some great Psychics!!!!!!!!

I used to really love Dancing Moon, and I have to say I am sorry they moved from Oberlin rd to their new Wakeforest Rd. location. The old store was lit by candles and had a wonderful, metaphysical ambience. It almost felt as if you were stepping back in time when you stepped inside. The new Dancing Moon takes a much more mainstream approach and instead of feeling like I've stepped back in time, I feel like I'm in the New Age section of my local Barnes and Noble. Their collection seems to have lost a bit of it''s unique edge (no more jewel encrusted wands, no more scrying bowls, no more Yarrow flower) in favor of reiki-charged candles, faerie statues, herbal teas, and books upon books on Yoga, Tarot, and the healing effects of tea. (They do still have a nice display of minicandles and their book selection is still incomparable. Their crystal selection is also very nice, if a bit overpriced.) Perhaps this is where the money is, and if so, I certainly cannot fault the owners for their choice - but I am still truly saddened that my hidden magick book shop has become fodder for the magickal dilletantes.
Pros: Decent prices, easy to find, handicap accessible
Cons: Too mainstream, poor customer service

Dancing Moon is a cool little new age shop - the only one in the area I'm aware of. The only drawback is the staff could be a little less snooty. For people promoting enlightenment, I think they could 'lighten up' a little and enjoy themselves more. Many times they seem very serious and sometimes downright miserable! Aside from that, their book selection is pretty good. Great incense and a very nice little Tea shop where you can sit and relax and sample some great teas. If you're looking for Tarot cards you can't find at, say, Barnes and Noble - Dancing Moon can't be beat.
Pros: Selection
Cons: Customer Service could be friendlier, less snooty
